In the book under review the authors present basic methods, approaches and results of the theory of constructive models, obtained by members of the Siberian School of Algebra and Logic, as well as some related results of some other mathematicians. The book contains six chapters. Chapter 1 contains basic notions and results of model theory, computability theory and the theory of numerations. This chapter also contains some basic facts of the theory of constructive models. In Chapter 2 the authors describe the algebraic properties of constructive models and, in particular, fundamentals of the theory of constructive fields. This chapter also contains several existence results for constructive models. In Chapter 3 the authors construct an effective analog of the theory of models of elementary theories, proper strongly constructive elementary extensions, and consider the strong constructivizability of homogeneous models. Chapter 4 contains a discussion of spectra of strongly constructivizable models of elementary theories and the decidability of models of Ehrenfeucht theories. In Chapter 5 the authors consider various effective representations and conditions for the computability of classes of constructivizations, and, finally, in Chapter 6 the authors discuss the problem of describing so-called autostable models, i.e., models admitting only finitely many nonequivalent effective representations. The authors designed this book for the reader who would like to be familiar with the essentials of the modern theory of constructive models, and for the reader who would like to become a professional in this branch of mathematical logic or to work with applications to programming concerning abstract data types, logic programming, etc.
