The authors continue their studies on two-velocity hydrodynamics in [J. Math. Pures Appl. (9) 104, No. 4, 762--800 (2015; Zbl 1359.35126)] and construct global in time solutions of the Navier-Stokes system for viscous compressible and barotropic fluids with degenerate viscosities. The cases of singular pressure and turbulent drag term in the compressible Navier-Stokes equations are studied with the use of a new functional resembling entropy.
