The author considers in \(L_{2,m}(X,\mu)\) the system of linear functional equations of the third kind \[ a(s)x(s)-\Lambda Dx(s)=f(s)\in L_{2,m}(X,\mu),\tag{1} \] where the unknown vector-function \(x(s)\) is sought in \(L_{2,m}(X,\mu)\), all entries in the \((m\times m)\)-matrix \(a(s)\) are almost everywhere finite, measurable, and defined on \(X\), while \(D:=(D_{ij})\) is an \((m\times m)\)-matrix operator whose entries \(D_{ij}\) are all continuous linear operators from \(L_2(X,\mu)\) into \(L_2(X,\mu)\). The additional conditions required in this paper are:{\parindent=6mm \begin{itemize}\item[(A)] all entries \(a_{ij}(s)\) of \(a(s)\) belong to \(L_\infty(X,\mu)\); \item[(B)] all operators \(D_{ij}\) are measure-compact; i.e., \(D_{ij}\) maps the unit ball of \(L_2(X,\mu)\) into some set such that each sequence of its elements has a subsequence converging in measure on every set of finite measure. \end{itemize}} The goal is the reduction of (1) by an explicit continuous linear inverse transformation to an equivalent linear integral equation in \(L_2\) either of the first or second kind to which the available methods of solution can be applied.
