    Let \((G_i)_{i=1}^n\) be locally compact groups and \(\mathcal {H}\) be a Hilbert space. The bi-Fourier-Stieltjes algebra \(B^2 (G_1\times G_2)\) was introduced and studied as a dual operator space by Effros and Ruan. The author of the paper under review introduces the generalized bi-Fourier-Stieltjes algebra \(B^2 (G_1\times G_2, {\mathbf{B}}(\mathcal {H}))\) and extends this algebra to the \(n\)-variable Fourier-Stieltjes algebra \(B(\prod_1^n G_i^n,{\mathbf{B}}(\mathcal {H}))\) consisting of all functions \(\phi: G_1\times \cdots \times G_n \to {\mathbf{B}}(\mathcal {H})\) for which there exists a unitary representation \(\pi_i: G_i \to {\mathbf{B}}(\mathcal {H}_i)\) and a diagram of bounded operators \[ \mathcal {H} @>{V}>> \mathcal {H}_n @>{T_{n-1}}>> \mathcal {H}_{n-1}\cdots \mathcal {H}_2 @> {T_1}>>\mathcal {H}_1@>{U}>>\mathcal {H} \] with \(\phi(s_1,\cdots, s_n)= U\pi_1(s_1)T_1\pi_2(s_2)\cdots \pi_{n-1}(s_{n-1} T_{n} \pi_n(s_n) V\). The pointwise product on \(B(\prod_1^n G_i^n,{\mathbf{B}}(\mathcal {H}))\) under which it forms a completely commutative unital Banach algebra is extended and a diagram of its subalgebras is introduced.
