Asymptotic analysis via calculus of hypergeometric functions (Q499255)

This paper starts with Gauss hypergeometric function and looks at various transforms such as Pfaff transform, Euler transform and analytic continuation. The aim of this paper is to look at asymptotic expansions for large arguments as well as for large parameters, and also to look at approximations. With the help of Pfaff and Euler transforms various asymptotic results are established for Gauss hypergeometric function. Then general hypergeometric series is examined, and a fractional version of the general hypergeometric function is defined. The major part of the paper deals with asymptotic expansions and approximations for the fractional version of the general hypergeometric functions. Several results are established and some conjectures are also proposed.
