Nielsen zeta functions for maps on infra-nilmanifolds are rational (Q499958)

The main result of this work is that the Nielsen zeta function of any map on any infra-nilmanifold is a rational function. In order to obtain this result, the authors show that for any map \(f\) on an infra-nilmanifold, we either have \( N(f)=|L(f)|\), where \(L(f)\) is the Lefschetz number of that map, or \(N(f)=|L(f)-L(f^{+})|\), where \(f^{+}\) is a lift of \(f\) to a \(2\)-fold covering of the given infra-nilmanifold.
