Instancing a number of stochastic predator-prey models the authors point out that, realistically, the coefficients in such models may not be independent of time. Similarly, consideration should be given to environmental noise. Random variations are best captured by stochastic models, and such models are particularly useful in describing the dynamics of small populations. A stochastic non-autonomous predator-prey model with Hassell-Varley type functional response is considered here and various aspects of the solution are exhibited. Criteria for extinction, persistence (or non-persistence) in the mean and stability are investigated.
