Regularity and geometric character of solution of a degenerate parabolic equation (Q503469)

The Cauchy problem for the porous medium equation \(u_t=\Delta u^m\) is considered in \({\mathbb R}^n\). An improvement of the classical Hölder continuity of solutions is shown, together with the property \(u^\beta\in C^1\) for sufficiently large \(\beta\). Some estimates related to propagation speed of the support of the solution are proved.
