Spacetime discontinuous Galerkin methods for convection-diffusion equations (Q504602)

The paper is concerned with the numerical solution of the convection-diffusion equations using the discontinuous Galerkin method for both time and space variables. The nonlinear convection term is discretized using entropy variables and entropy stable numerical fluxes. Two approaches are presented for treating the diffusion term: the interior penalty method and the local discontinuous Galerkin method. The entropy stability is proved for both approaches. Numerical results are presented for the linear advection-diffusion equation and the viscous Burgers equation.
