The authors present, in dimension \(n\geq 3\), a survey of examples for the Jacobian conjecture and the weak Markus-Yamabe conjecture. Furthermore, they construct new examples of vector fields for which the origin is almost globally asymptotically stable by using the novel concept of density functions introduced by \textit{A. Rantzer} [Syst. Control Lett. 42, No. 3, 161--168 (2000; Zbl 0974.93058)].
