In this paper, the authors consider the fractional initial value problem \[ \big(D^qx\big)(t)=f\big(t,x(t)\big) \] subject to \(x\big(t_0\big)=x_0\); here the number \(q\), which is the order of the fractional derivative, satisfies \(0<q<1\). We note that the fractional derivative considered in this work is the so-called Caputo-type derivative. The main result of this rather expansive paper concerns the stability of solutions to this problem, and this is accomplished via Lyapunov theory. While the proofs are somewhat technically demanding (particularly from a notational point of view), the writing is clear and the overall objectives easy to follow. Moreover, the authors have included several illustrating examples to demonstrate the application of the abstract theory. Researchers interested in stability of solutions to initial value problems may find this of interest -- particularly if they are simultaneously interested in the fractional calculus.
