The author considers the Volterra-Stieltjes integral equation of the form \[ u(t,x)=h(t,x)+f\big(t,x,u(t,x)\big)\int_0^t\int_0^xv\big(t,s,x,y,u(s,y)\big)d_yg_2(x,y)d_sg_1(t,s). \] Here \(t\in[0,+\infty)\) and \(x\in[0,M]\), where \(M\) is a fixed positive number. A number of hypotheses are imposed on the various functions in the integral equation. We will not list all of these here, but, for example, it is assumed that \(f\) is continuous and satisfies a Lipschitz condition of the form \[ \big|f(t,x,u_1)-f(t,x,u_2)\big|\leq k\big|u_1-u_2\big|, \] for all \(t\in(0,+\infty)\), \(x\in[0,M]\), and \(u_1\), \(u_2\in\mathbb{R}\) -- i.e., \(f\) is Lipschitz with respect to its third argument. Under the variety of hypotheses imposed, the author deduces existence of solution to the integral equation. Moreover, she also deduces that solutions are uniformly locally attractive. Finally, examples are shown to illustrate the application of the theory. All in all, the paper is written relatively clearly, and it seems that this should be of interest to researchers in the general area of existence of solutions to integral equations.
