Galois sets of connected components and Weil restriction (Q510020)

For \(A\) a finite \(k\)-algebra, the authors of this paper show that the Weil restriction \(\mathscr{R}_{A/k}(X)\) of a smooth \(A\)-scheme \(X\) is isomorphic to a scheme over a finite separable extension of \(k\). Furthermore, the authors show that \(\pi_0(\mathscr{R}_{A/k}(X))\) is canonically isomorphic as a \(\mathrm{Aut}_k(\overline{k})\)-set to a product of \(\pi_0(X \times_{\mathrm{Spec} \, A} \mathrm{Spec} \, \overline{k})\), where \(\mathrm{Spec} \, \overline{k}\) is viewed as an \(A\)-scheme via elements of \(\mathrm{Hom}_{k\text{-alg}} (A, \overline{k})\).
