Numerical algebraic geometry as a field of algebraic geometry is concerned mainly with numerical algorithms for solving systems of polynomial equations. One of the subjects in this field is numerical primary decomposition whose goal is to find a generic point on every associated prime of a given ideal. The authors developed algorithms to detect whether or not a numerical complex affine variety corresponds to an associated component of a polynomial ideal. It should be noted that the algorithms in the article are implemented in Macaulay2.
