Investigated is the global behavior of the solutions in the energy class for the initial value problem to the focusing nonlinear cubic Klein-Gordon equation. One proves that under some special assumptions on the initial data the solution \(u(t)\) of the nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation scatters in both time and directions and blows up in finite time in both directions. By this, the solutions that have the charged energy less than that of the standing waves are classified in the complex-valued case. A classification of solutions to the nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation below solitary waves generated by the Lorentz transform is shown. Basic results for the considered mathematical model as Strichartz estimates, blow-up criterion and preliminaries for proofs are developed in the first two sections. The third section is devoted to the proof of scattering and the forth section to the proof of blow-up. In the last two sections, the proof of the result on classification of solutions is performed.
