This authors consider the problem \[ \begin{cases} \frac{\partial u}{\partial t}- M(\int_{\Omega}|\nabla u|^{2}dx)\Delta u=f(x,t)\quad \text{in }Q,\\ u(x,t)=0 \quad \text{on }\Sigma,\\ u(x,0)= u_{0}(x) \quad \text{on }\Omega ,\end{cases} \] where \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^2\), \(Q=\Omega \times [0,T]\) and \(\Sigma = \partial \Omega \times [0,T]\), the function \(M\) describes the nonlocal model of this problem. An approximate scheme of the problem is constructed using the finite element method which results in a system of nonlinear equations. The approximate solution of this system is obtained by the Newton iteration method. The numerical results for three concrete examples confirm the optimal order of convergence, but the choice of the function \(M\) is not given.
