Lifting a 5-dimensional representation of \(M_{11}\) to a complex unitary representation of a certain amalgam (Q514190)

It is known that the smallest Mathieu group \(M_{11}\) has an irreducible representation of degree 5 over the finite field \(\mathrm{GF}(3)\). The group \(M_{11}\) is a homomorphic image of the amalgam \(G=\mathrm{GL}(2,3)^\ast_{D_8}S_4\). In the paper under review, the author lifts the 5-dimensional representation of \(G\) such that the lifted representation is unitary.
