\textit{J. Kocik} [``Geometric diagram for relativistic addition of velocities'', Am. J. Phys. 80, 737--739 (2012; \url{doi:10.1119/1.4730931})] introduced a diagram for Poincaré's formula for relativistic velocity addition. \textit{A. Sasane} and \textit{V. Ufnarovski} [Elem. Math. 71, No. 3, 122--130 (2016; Zbl 1369.51003)] provided three more proofs that Kocik's diagram achieves its intended aim. In this note, the author points out the close connection that exists between Kocik's result and Lazare Carnot's solution of Pappus's problem (Given a circle and three collinear points \(D\), \(E\), and \(F\), find a triangle \(ABC\) inscribed in the circle and whose sides (possibly extended) pass through \(D\), \(E\), and \(F\).).
