A hypergeometric group, i.e., the monodromy group of a hypergeometric differential equation, is either arithmetic, or a so called thin group. The question, under which circumstances the group is arithmetic, is wide open, in particular in the higher rank case. The present paper gives a series of explicit examples, yielding an infinite family of hypergeometric groups, which are arithmetic of higher rank.
