Let \(S_g\) denote a Riemann surface of genus \(g\) and write Hol(\(S_g,S_{g'}\)) for the set of all holomorphic mappings from \(S_g\) to \(S_{g'}\) where \(g\geq g'>1\). It may be shown that this set is always finite. This short note focuses on the case \(g=3\) and \(g'=2\) proving a number of related results. In particular the authors discuss when elements of this set are equivalent in a natural sense and when the surfaces are `real' (i.e., what elsewhere in the literature is called being `symmetric'.)
