Let \(X\) be a scheme and for \(i\in\mathbb Z\) let \(KH_{i}(X)\) be the homotopy \(K\)-theory defined in Sec.IV.12 of \textit{C. A. Weibel} [The \(K\)-book. An introduction to algebraic \(K\)-theory. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS) (2013; Zbl 1273.19001)]. The authors prove that if \(X\) is a noetherian scheme of finite Krull dimension \(d\) then \(KH_{i}(X)=0\) for \(i<-d.\) Their theorem is a special case of Weibel's conjecture.
