In earlier papers, the author introduced the notions of hyperbolic extensions and cut limits of families of metrics for complete Riemannian manifolds with a pole. Here he continues this work by showing that if a family of metrics has cut limits then so does the associated family of hyperbolic extensions. The result is applied to the problem of smoothing Charney-Davis strict hyperbolizations.
