The following generalized Dirichlet-Neumann boundary value problem is considered \begin{gather*} \sum_{r=0}^{2l}a_{r}\frac{\partial^{2l}u}{\partial x^{2l-r}\partial y^{r}}+ \sum_{0\leq r\leq k\leq 2l-1}a^1_{rk}\frac{\partial^{k}u}{\partial x^{k-r}\partial y^{r}}=f,\quad (x,y)\in D,\tag{1}\\ \frac{\partial^{k_j-1}u}{\partial n^{k_j-1}}\Big|_{\Gamma}=g_j,\quad j=1,\dotsc,l,\tag{2} \end{gather*} where \(D\subset\mathbb R^2\) is a simply connected domain, \(\Gamma=\partial D\) and \(n\) is the unit outward normal. The coefficients \(a_r\in\mathbb R\), \(a^1_{rk}(x,y)\in C^\mu(\overline{D})\) satisfy the ellipticity conditions \(a_{2l}\neq0\) and \[ \sum_{r=0}^{2l}a_rz^r=a_{2l}\prod_{k=1}^m(z-\nu_k)^{l_k}\prod_{k=1}^m(z-\overline{\nu_k})^{l_k}, \] where the roots \(\nu_k\) are pairwise disjoint and lie in the upper half-plane and their total multiplicity is equal to \(l\), i.e. \(l_1+\dotsc+l_m=l\). In Theorem 1 a sufficient condition for the Fredholm property of the problem (1)-(2) is obtained and an index formula is derived. A particular case of the general problem is considered in Theorem 2: in each of the cases \(k_{j+1}-k_{j}=1\), \(1\leq j\leq l\) and \(m=1\), \(\nu_1=\nu\), the problem (1)-(2) has the Fredholm property with index zero. Another particular case of the problem (1)-(2), \(m=2\), \(\nu_1=\nu\) and \(\nu_2=-1/\nu\), is investigated in Theorem 3.
