In the theory of topological partition relations, colorings of the \(k\)-tupels \([Y]^{k}\) of a topological space \(Y\) are considered with the intention of finding a homogeneous set which is homeomorphic to a desired topological space \(X\). If for any \(\mu\)-coloring of \([Y]^{k}\) this statement holds, one denotes this by \(Y \rightarrow (\text{top}\,X)^k_{\mu}\). The investigations of the author have been inspired by results of \textit{J. E. Baumgartner} [J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 43, 178--195 (1986; Zbl 0647.05005)] and \textit{S. Todorčević} [Introduction to Ramsey space. Princeton, NJ: Princeton University Press (2010; Zbl 1205.05001)]. He investigates special partition relation. For an ordinal \(\gamma\), \(\gamma \rightarrow (\text{top} \,\omega^n +1)^k_{l,m}\) denotes the following fact: If \(f : [\gamma]^k \rightarrow l\) is a coloring, then there exists \(Y \subset \gamma\) which is homeomorphic to \(\omega^n+1\), such that \(| f''[Y]^k| \leq m\). Baumgartner [loc. cit.] showed that given \(n>1\) the relation \(\forall l>1\, \gamma \rightarrow (\text{top} \, \omega^n+1)^k_{l,2n}\) holds for \[ \gamma = \omega(1,4n+2)+1 = \underbrace {\omega^{\omega^{\omega^{.^{.^{.^{\omega}}}}}}}_{4n+2-\omega's}+1 \] Here, the author investigates the case \(n=2\) and determines the smallest ordinal \(\gamma\) of the form \(\gamma = \omega^{\alpha}\) satisfying \(\forall l>1 \, \gamma \rightarrow (\text{top} \, \omega^n+1)^k_{l,m}\), when \(m\) takes one of the values 5, 7 or 11. Fixing \(n\), he finds bounds for \(m\). The oscillation map is central in the investigations.
