Let \(A\), \(B\), \(C\) be natural numbers. Using Heron's formula for the area of a triangle, the authors construct three rational points on the elliptic curve \(E: Y^2 = X^3 -nX\) with \[ n = (A^8 + B^8 + C^8 - 2A^4 B^4 - 2 A^4C^4 - 2 B^4C^4)/4. \] If furthermore \(2B^4+2C^4-A^4=D^4\) is a forth power of a natural number \(D\), they find two further rational points on \(E\). Finally they indicate how to find an infinite family of solutions \((A,B,C,D)\) of the latter Diophantine equation.
