The dynamics of a neuron population introduced by (PPS) [\textit{K. Pakdaman} et al., Nonlinearity 23, No. 1, 55--75 (2010; Zbl 1267.35239)] is given by a nonlinear integro-partial differential equation for the density \(f(t,x)\) of neurons, completed with an initial condition. In the present article, based on the PPS-model, a microscopic model describing the dynamics of a finite number of neurons is introduced. The neurons interact through spikes, the state of a neuron is the ``age'' and the initial states are independent and identically distributed random variables. In the second section of the paper some a priori bounds for the solution of the particle system are shown and in the last three sections the path-wise uniqueness of the mean field system, the consistency of the mean field system and the mean-field convergence are explored.
