Dinv and area (Q521395)

Summary: We give a new combinatorial proof of the well known result that the dinv of an \((m,n)\)-Dyck path is equal to the area of its sweep map image. The first proof of this remarkable identity for co-prime \((m,n)\) is due to \textit{N. A. Loehr} and \textit{G. S. Warrington} [J. Comb. Theory, Ser. A 116, No. 2, 379--403 (2009; Zbl 1188.05012)]. There is also a second proof (in the co-prime case) due to \textit{E. Gorsky} and \textit{M. Mazin} [ibid. 120, No. 1, 49--63 (2013; Zbl 1252.05009)] and a third proof due to \textit{M. Mazin} [Ann. Comb. 18, No. 4, 709--722 (2014; Zbl 1307.05016)].
