Analytic torsion is an invariant of a closed Riemannian manifold \(X\) with a euclidean bundle \(F\). It is defined from the spectrum of the Laplacian operators on differential forms on \(X\) with coefficients in \(F\). One can attempt to extend the definition to singular manifolds by removing the singular locus and looking at the autoadjoint extension of the Laplacian. For manifolds with isolated conical singularities this was done by \textit{A. Dar} [ibid. 194, 193--216 (1987; Zbl 0605.57012)]. If the singular manifold has in addition an orbifold structure, meaning that it is locally isometric to a quotient of a manifold by a finite group, then \textit{X. Ma} has also defined an analytic torsion for \((X, F)\) [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 357, No. 6, 2205--2233 (2005; Zbl 1065.58024)]. In this paper the authors prove that both these definitions coincide when \(X\) is an orbifold with isolated conical singularities.
