Let \(F(s):=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{a(n)}{n^s}\) be a Dirichlet series converging in a certain complex plane. Denote by \(\sigma_c(F)\), \(\sigma_u(F)\), \(\sigma_a(F)\) and \(\sigma_b(F)\) the abscissa of convergence, of uniform convergence, of absolute convergence and of boundedness, respectively. The paper is devoted to the study of the quantities \(\sigma_c(F)\), \(\sigma_u(F)\), \(\sigma_a(F)\) and \(\sigma_b(F)\). Also the questions of zero distribution and independence results using majorants are discussed. It is shown that if \(F(s)\) belongs to the Selberg class \({\mathcal S}\), then \(\sigma_b(F)=\sigma_u(F)=\sigma_a(F)\); \(\sigma_c(F)=1\) if and only if \(F(s)\) has a pole at \(s=1\) for the functions from the extended Selberg class \({\mathcal S}^{\#}\); there exist functions \(F \in {\mathcal S}^\#\) with \(\sigma_a(F)\) arbitrarily close to \(\frac{1}{2.}\) Now let \(F\in {\mathcal S}\) be of degree \(d\), \(N_F(\sigma,T)\) be the number of zeros \(\rho=\beta+i\gamma\) with \( \beta>\sigma\) and \(|\gamma|\leq T\). Denote the density abscissa \(\sigma_D(F)\) by \(\sigma_D(F):=\inf\{\sigma: N_F(\sigma,T)=o(T)\}\). It is obtained that, for \(F\in{\mathcal S}\) and function \(f(s)\) which is \(\delta\)-almost periodic majorant of \(F(s)\), in the half-plane \(\sigma>\max(1-\delta,\sigma_D(F))\), the functions \(F(s)\) and \(f(s)\) have the same zeros with the same multiplicity. The last result asserts that, for \(F,G\) such that \(F(s) \ll |G(s)|\) for \(\sigma>\frac{1}{2}\), the functions \(F(s)\) and \(G(s)\) coincide.
