Let \(G\) be a compact Lie group. The isovariant category \textbf{ISOV-TOP} has as objects the \(G\)-spaces and as morphisms the isovariant maps, that is, equivariant maps that send each orbit into an equivalent one. The injective objects of such a category are the universal Palais \(G\)-spaces [\textit{S. M. Ageev}, Sb. Math. 203, No. 6, 769--797 (2012; Zbl 1257.54038); translation from Mat. Sb. 203, No. 6, 3--34 (2012)]. Since there is a close connection of such injective objects with Borsuk's extensor theory, they are called isovariant absolute (neighborhood) extensors. It is a fact that many classical objects of topology, geometry and analysis endowed with a natural action of a compact Lie group are isovariant absolute extensors, or their neighborhood version. For instance the exponent of a connected compact abelian group is an isovariant absolute extensor [the author, ``The exponent of compact Lie group as a universal space in the sense of R. Palais'', submitted to Fundam.\,Math.], while in the Euclidean space \(\mathbb R^n\) the space of linear isomorphisms of a Hilbert \(G\)-space is an isovariant absolute neighborhood extensor. Let \(L_2(G)\) be the complex Hilbert space of all measurable complex-valued functions square integrable with respect to the invariant Haar measure \(\mu_G\) on \(G\), with inner product \((\varphi,\psi)=\int_G (\varphi\cdot \overline\psi)\;\partial \mu_g\), and let \(C(G;\mathbb C)\) be the space of complex-valued continuous functions with norm \(||f||=sup\{|f(x)| : x\in G\}\). \(L_2(G)\) is a Hilbert \(G\)-space and \(C(G;\mathbb C)\) is a Banach \(G\)-space; the main result of this paper is a theorem asserting that they are both isovariant absolute extensors.
