The motivation for this paper is the point of view that a group up to homotopy, or \(\infty\)-group, is just a pointed connected topological space, or equivalently a pointed connected Kan complex. A natural question is whether classical results from group theory carry over into this new setting. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the Sylow theorems for \(\infty\)-groups. After the development of the general theory of \(\infty\)-groups and a notion of \(k\)-invariants, which corresponds to truncation, the authors recall the classical Sylow theorems and then set up and prove the new version in their context. While the main three statements hold, they point out an example that uniqueness of \(p\)-Sylow subgroups no longer implies normality. Finally, the paper concludes with two further examples: a version of Burnside's Lemma for \(\infty\)-groups, and characterizations of nilpotent \(\infty\)-groups.
