The authors consider the stability of periodic wave train solutions of the inclined viscous 1D shallow water equations of St. Venant. The right-hand side depends on the Froude number \(F\); the limit cases of \(F\to2\) and \(F\to\infty\) are considered. In the first limit case the system is approximated by a perturbed KdV equation (KdV-KS). The approximation is justified in the article. The behaviour of solutions for large \(F\) is studied numerically.
