The authors consider the Riemann problem for the non-homogeneous nonlinear \(n\)-dimensional conservation law. The flux function depends on the solution, the source term is the product of a function of time and a solution-dependent term. Initial distribution is piecewise constant depending on the sign of a smooth function \(M\) with zero surface dividing \(\mathbb R^n\) in two unbounded parts. The authors describe the structure of solutions and demonstrate some generalizations and similarity of structures in the 1D case. The shock front and the level sets of the rarefaction wave can be considered as translations of the initial profile \(M(x)=0\) and their propagation speed is constructed. Global existence of non-self-similar solutions is proved. Conditions of generation of shock/rarefaction waves are described (under the convexity condition on the flux function the type of solution depends on magnitudes of the initial distribution values). Two examples with power flux functions and linear source are considered.
