The authors apply a discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method for the numerical solution of one-dimensional nonlinear hyperbolic conservation laws, and consider the so-called divided difference of the errors for the DG solution in various norms. They obtain theoretically optimal convergence and superconvergence results for the proposed scheme which are also verified by numerical experiments.
