\textit{E. B. Dynkin} [Tr. Mosk. Mat. O.-va 1, 39--166 (1952; Zbl 0048.01601)] determined the maximal closed connected subgroups of the classical complex algebraic groups. This was related with irreducible representations of simple groups. Later, his result and the method were extended to algebraic groups over algebraically closed fields, cf., e.g., [\textit{B. Ford}, J. Algebra 181, No. 1, 26--69 (1996; Zbl 0848.20031)]. The present paper completes the results of Ford [loc. cit.] by the following result. Let \(Y=\mathrm{Spin}_{2n+1}(K)\) (\(n \geq 3\)) be a simply connected simple algebraic group of type \(B_n\), and let \(X\) be the subgroup of type \(D_n\), embedded in \(Y\) in the usual way. The author gives a complete set of isomorphism classes of finite-dimensional, irreducible, rational \(KY\)-modules on which \(X\) acts with exactly two composition factors.
