The aim of this book is to provide some recent developments in quantum entangalement. The salient developments in the subject which have played the central role in quantum field theories, holography and many-body systems are summarized. The book is divided into four thematically distinct parts. Part I describes how to think about entanglement in quantum mechanics and quantum field theories and lays out the basic formalism for further discussion. The construction of density matrix elements and the computation of Renyi and Von Neumann entropies are reviewed and illustrated with examples from two-dimensional conformal field theories. Part II describes the various ideas for computing entanglement entropy in field theories which are amenable to a holographic description. Part III focuses on recent studies of entanglement as a diagnostic of quantum dynamics. Applications which are easily amenable to holographic analysis such as quench dynamics and entanglement in the presence of Fermi surfaces are described. Part IV then turns to the developments which provide a direct link between geometry and entanglement. As a part of discussion, concepts from tensor networks which have been suggested as useful toy models for understanding the holography dictionary are explained. A list of references the reader would like to consult for various concepts are also given.
