This is part II of the series of papers in which the authors study degeneration of mixed Hodge structures (part I is [\textit{K. Kato, C. Nakayama} and \textit{S. Usui}, ``Classifying spaces of degenerating mixed Hodge structures. I: Borel-Serre spaces'', Algebraic analysis and around in honor of Professor Masaki Kashiwara's 60th birthday. Tokyo: Mathematical Society of Japan. Advanced Studies in Pure Mathematics 54, 187--222 (2009; Zbl 1179.14008)]). Let \(D\) be the classifying space of mixed Hodge structures whose graded quotients for the weight filtrations are polarized as defined in [\textit{S. Usui}, ``Variation of mixed Hodge structure arising from family of logarithmic deformations. II: Classifying space'', Duke Math. J. 51, 851--875 (1984; Zbl 0558.14005)]. The authors construct an enlargement \(D_{\text{SL}(2)}\) of \(D\) by adding a mixed Hodge theoretic version of \({\text{SL}}(2)\)-orbits. This space has a real analytic structure and a log structure with sign. A mixed Hodge theoretic version of the \({\text{SL}}(2)\)-orbit theorem of \textit{E. Cattani, A. Kaplan} and \textit{W. Schmid}, [``Degeneration of Hodge structures'', Ann. Math. (2) 123, 457--535 (1986; Zbl 0617.14005)] is interpreted using \(D_{\text{SL}(2)}\). The spaces \(D_{\text{BS}}\) (constructed in part I) and \(D_{\text{SL}(2)}\) belong to a fundamental diagram of eight enlargements of \(D\) whose constructions will be given in the forthcoming parts of this series.
