This paper is about the representations of an essentially finite \(2\)-group \(\mathbb{G}\) in the \(2\)-category of \(2\)-vector spaces, in the sense of Kapranov and Voevodsky. The author introduces the regular representation, and computes the invariants which classify it. Over an algebraically closed field of suitable characteristic, he shows that the \(2\)-category of representations is in a certain sense closed. The ranks of categories of intertwiners are computed and are shown to be symmetric. It is also shown that the forgetful \(2\)-functor \(\omega\) from \(2\)-representations to \(2\)-vector spaces is representable, with the regular representation as representing object, and this result is applied to the pseudonatural endomorphisms of \(\omega\). It is conjectured that \(\mathbb{G}\) can be reconstructed from the automorphisms of \(\omega\).
