This paper deals with a modification of the Levin-Stewart model of bacteriophage predation of bacteria in a chemostat. The model is modified for a flow reactor where spatial effects become important, resulting in a system of delayed reaction-diffusion equations with non-local nonlinearities. In the paper, it is shown that the model can be formulated as a delayed differential equation in a Banach space. This abstract formulation leads to well-posedness results and implies that the equation generates a nonlinear semiflow on a suitable space. In addition, it is shown that solutions are uniformly ultimately bounded and that the dynamical system has a compact attractor of bounded sets.
