The book under review is the author's translation of his own recent monograph [Intégrales singulières. Paris: CNRS, Les Ulis: EDP Sciences Éditions (2005; Zbl 1125.42001)]. At first, a concise introduction to the classical theory of differentiable manifolds is given. In particular, it contains basic definitions, notions and detailed descriptions of the main properties of differentiation and integration, Stokes's formula, homology and cohomology, de Rham theory and Poincaré duality, currents, Leray residue calculus and Thom's isotopy theorem. Then the author discusses the notion of Landau varieties, describes their singular points making use of the Picard-Lefschetz formulae, studies ramification of integrals around Landau varieties and considers some generalizations. In fact, the most part of this material has already been published more than 50 years ago [\textit{F. Pham}, Introduction à l'étude topologique des singularités de Landau. Paris: Gauthier-Villars Editeur (1967; Zbl 0157.27503)]. The second part of the work is written on the basis of a series of lectures given by the author in 1974 (Hanoi, Vietnam); it is devoted to the study of singular integrals based on properties of a special class of functions and hyperfunctions in one variable considered by N. Nilsson. At the end, a short introduction to M. Sato's microlocal analysis is given. The list of references is completed with a bibliographical supplement by C. Sabbah containing a brief survey of a number of papers published between 1965 and 1992, including 20 items of F. Pham. The book is written in a clear didactic style, almost all topics are illustrated by many examples together with nice pictures, non-formal remarks and comments; it can be recommended to graduate students as well as to mathematicians and physicists who are interested in the studies of singularities of integrals and applications.
