Let \(F\) be a field and \(\mathbb{F}\) a finite field of characteristic \(p\). Let \({\mathcal C}{\mathcal M}(F;\Lambda)\) be the category of Chow motives with coefficients in the commutative ring \(\lambda\), which will be assumed to be finite and connected. Let \(G\) be a semisimple, affine, adjoint algebraic group of inner type and let \(X\) be a projective \(G\)-homogeneous \(F\)-variety. Under these assumptions the motive of \(X\) decomposes in \({\mathcal C}{\mathcal M}(F;\Lambda)\) in a unique way (up to isomorphism) as a direct sum of indecomposable motives. Then the upper motive of \(X\) is the uniquely determined indecomposable direct summand \(M\)f of the motive of \(X\) such that the \(0\)-codimensional Chow group of \(M\) is non-zero. The upper motives of two projective \(G\)-homogeneous varieties \(X\) and \(X'\) over \(F\) are isomorphic in \({\mathcal C}{\mathcal M}(F;\mathbb{F})\) iff \(X_{F(X')}\) and \(X_{F(X)}'\) are isotropic. The variety \(X\) is isotropic if and only if the upper motive of \(X\) is isomorphic to the Tate motive. Let \(A\) be a central simple algebra over \(F\) and let \(0\leq c_1<\cdots<c_k\leq \deg(A)\) be a sequence of integers. \(X(c_1,\dots, c_k; A)\) will denote the variety of flags of right ideals of reduced dimension \(c_1\cdots c_k\) in \(A\). If \(X= X(c_1,\dots, c_k; A)\), then \(X\) is said to be anisotropic if it has no zero-cycle of degree coprime to \(p\). The paper contains the following results: Theorem 1. Let \(A\) and \(A'\) be two central simple algebras over \(F\). The upper motives of two anisotropic varieties of flags of right ideals \(X(c_1,\dots, c_k; A)\) and \(X(d_1,\dots, d_h); A')\) are isomorphic in \({\mathcal C}{\mathcal M}(F;\mathbb{F})\) iff \(v_p(\text{gcd}(c_1,\dots, c_k)= v_p(d_1,\dots, d_h)\) and the \(p\)-primary components \(A_P\) and \(A_P'\) generate the same subgroup of \(\text{Br}(F)\). Theorem 2. Let \(G\) and \(G'\) be two absolutely simple affine adjoint algebraic groups of inner type \(A_n\) and \(A_{n'}\). Let \({\mathcal X}_G({\mathcal X}_{G'})\) be the set of of the isomorphism classes of upper motives of projective \(G\)-homogeneous (\(G'\)-homogeneous) \(F\)-varieties in \({\mathcal C}{\mathcal M}(F,\mathbb{F})\). Then either \({\mathcal X}_G\cap{\mathcal X}_{G'}\) is reduced to the class of the Tate motive or \({\mathcal X}_G\simeq{\mathcal X}_{G'}\).
