A separable unital \(C^*\)-algebra \(D\neq C\) is called strongly self-absorbing if there exists an isomorphism from \(D\) to \(D\otimes D\) which is approximately unitarily equivalent to the first factor embedding. In this paper, the author proves that any strongly self-absorbing \(C^*\)-algebra \(D\) absorbs the Jiang-Su algebra \(Z\) (see [\textit{X. Jiang} and \textit{H. Su}, ``On a simple unital projectionsless \(C^*\)-algebra'', Am. J. Math. 121, No.~2, 359--413 (1999; Zbl 0923.46069)]) tensorially. This implies that \(D\) is \(Z\)-stable. Some open problems in [\textit{M. Dadarlat} and \textit{M. Rørdam}, ``Strongly self-absorbing \(C^*\)-algebras which contain a non-trivial projection'', Münster J. Math. 2, No.~1, 35--44 (2009; Zbl 1191.46049); \textit{A. S. Toms} and \textit{W. Winter}, ``\(Z\)-stable ASH algebras'', Can. J. Math. 60, No.~3, 703--720 (2008; Zbl 1157.46034)] are also solved.
