The authors consider the inhomogeneous Helmholtz equation with complex wave number in a polygonal domain \(\Omega\) with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The inhomogeneous term \(g\) belongs to the space \(L^p_{\mu}(\Omega)=\{v\in L^p_{loc}(\Omega)\,:\,r^\mu v\in L^p(\Omega)\}\), where \(\mu\) is a real parameter and \(r(x)\) is the distance from \(x\) to the set of corners of the domain. They give sufficient conditions on the three parameters \(p\), \(\mu\), and \(\Omega\) such that the problem at hand has a unique solution belonging to \(H^1_0(\Omega)\) that admits a decomposition into a regular part in weighted \(L^p\)-Sobolev spaces and an explicit singular part.
