Let \(M\) be a non-generic CR-submanifold of CR dimension \(k\) in \(\mathbb C^n\). If the dimension of the Sussmann manifold through a point \(p\in M\) is \(2k+\ell\) the number \(\ell\) is called the defect at \(p\). The main result of the paper under review is the following theorem: If \(M\) is a smooth non-generic CR submanifold of positive defect at some point \(p\), then, for any vector \(v\) transversal to \(\text{span}_{\mathbb C} T_pM\) and neighbourhood \(\mathfrak U\) of \(p\), there exists a wedge \(\mathfrak W\) of direction \(v\) whose edge \(\mathfrak U'\) is a possibly smaller neighbourhood of \(p\) in \(\mathfrak U\) such that any continuous CR function on \(\mathfrak U\) extends holomorphically to \(\mathfrak W\). This theorem complements an earlier result by the author in the case of decomposable CR functions [\textit{N. Eisen}, Mich. Math. J. 54, No.~2, 469--477 (2006; Zbl 1128.32022)].
