This paper is the culmination of the work carried out by the author on quantum groups during the past four years. The author finds an interesting correspondence between \(SU_q(2)\), \(\widetilde{E}_q(2)\) and \(\widetilde{SU}_q(1, 1)\). Motivated by the work of \textit{P. M. Hajac, R. Matthes} and \textit{W. Szymański} [``Quantum real projective space, disc and spheres'', Algebr. Represent. Theory 6, No. 2, 169--192 (2003; Zbl 1038.46059)], the author had shown earlier how one can obtain a new locally compact quantum group from the action of a locally compact quantum group on a type~I factor. Applying this technique, the author obtained \(\widetilde{E}_q(2)\) from the action of quantum \(SU(2)\) on the standard Podleś sphere [``On a Morita equivalence between the duals of quantum \(SU(2)\) and quantum \(\tilde E(2)\)'', Adv. Math. 229, No.~2, 1047--1079 (2012; Zbl 1258.46028)]. In this paper, he obtains \(\widetilde{SU}_q(1, 1)\) from the action of quantum \(SU(2)\) on the quantum projective plane. The author also obtains the groupoid von Neumann algebra of the linking quantum groupoid between the duals of \(SU_q(2)\), \(\widetilde{E}_q(2)\) and \(\widetilde{SU}_q(1, 1)\). The linking quantum groupoid between the pair consisting of the duals of \(SU_q(2), \widetilde{E}_q(2)\) was derived by the author in [loc.\,cit.]. The main object of study in this interesting paper is the linking quantum groupoid between the duals of \(SU_q(2)\) and \(\widetilde{SU}_q(1, 1)\). The third linking groupoid between the duals of \( \widetilde{E}_q(2)\) and \(\widetilde{SU}_q(1, 1)\) is then obtained by a composition procedure, while the global \(3 \times 3\) linking quantum groupoid is simply the three separate linking quantum groupoids pasted together. It would be very interesting to see whether this method works in higher dimensions.
