Effect algebras are partial algebras that serve as algebraic models in the foundations of quantum mechanics. They are in a natural one-to-one correspondence with so-called difference posets. Pseudoeffect algebras were introduced as noncommutative versions of effect algebras. In the paper under review (weak commutative) pseudoeffect algebras, (weak commutative) generalized pseudoeffect algebras, (weak commutative) pseudo difference posets and (weak commutative) generalized pseudo difference posets are defined and relations between these notions are proved. The details are too technical to be reproduced here.
