A semifield is a non-associative division algebra over a finite field. Semifields have connections to finite geometry and coding theory. The particular semifields that are studied are six dimensional \(F_q\) algebras which have at least one nucleus of order \(q^3\), that is rank 2 semifields of order six. Scattered semifields are those where the linear sets have maximal size \({q^6-1}\over{q-1}\), that is those in the class \({\mathcal F}_5\). The authors construct new infinite families of rank two scattered semifields for any odd prime power \(q\) with \(q \equiv 1 \pmod{3}\), for \(q=2^{2h}\) with \(h \equiv 1 \pmod{3}\), and for \(q=3^h\) with \(h\not \equiv 0 \pmod{3}.\) The construction uses the structure of the linear set and the pseudoregulus associated to those semifields.
