The \(A\)-polynomial of a hyperbolic 3-manifod with one cusp is a certain invariant 2-variable polynomial; it was defined by \textit{D. Cooper} et al. [Invent. Math. 118, No. 1, 47--84 (1994; Zbl 0842.57013)]. In the paper under review it is shown that the \(A\)-polynomial \(A_n\) of the family of pretzel knots \(K_n = (-2,3,3+2n)\) satisfies a linear recursion relation of order 4; the constant coefficients and the initial conditions are given explicitly. The proof relies on results of \textit{N. Tamura} and \textit{Y. Yokota} [Tokyo J. Math. 27, No. 1, 263--273 (2004; Zbl 1060.57009)] and of \textit{T.W. Mattman} [J. Knot Theory Ramifications 11, No. 8, 1251--1289 (2002; Zbl 1030.57011)]. It is also shown that the \(A\)-polynomial of \(K_n\) and the mirror of \(K_{-n}\) are related by an explicit \(GL(2,\mathbb{Z})\) action.
