As the title says, this paper is a survey on Dirichlet spaces of analytic functions, but a very well organized one, being a useful guide equally for people intending to learn this topic and for those who want to deepen their knowledge in this area. The underlying idea to compare the results from Dirichlet spaces with the related results from Hardy spaces is very fruitful. The paper is organized in eight chapters, starting with an introduction to the topic and ending with a chapter of open problems. In the second chapter, the reader can find classical definitions of Dirichlet space, the Hardy and Bergman space, the definition in terms of boundary values and other characterizations of the Dirichlet norm. Also, the reproducing kernel is analyzed. The third chapter is dedicated to Carleson measures, which proved to be a central concept in the theory of Dirichlet space. Definition and capacity characterization as well as the characterization by testing conditions are presented. The tree model is analyzed in Chapter 4. Here, the reader can study results on Bergman trees, the boundary of such a tree and its relation with the disc's boundary, and Carleson measures on the tree and on the disc. The fifth chapter is dedicated to interesting properties of the solutions for the Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation problem, while in the sixth chapter the multiplier space and other spaces intrinsic to Dirichlet space theory are presented. A nice discussion of the Corona theorem for the multiplier algebra of the Dirichlet space is presented, too. Interpolating sequences for the Dirichlet space and its multiplier algebra are analyzed in Chapter 7. Known facts about weak interpolation and onto interpolation as well as zero sets for Dirichlet space are presented. The last chapter contains some interesting open problems strictly related to the discussed topics.
