A space \(X\) has star-\(\mathcal P\), \(\mathcal P\) some topological property, provided for each open cover \(\mathcal U\) of \(X\) there is a \(\mathcal P\) subspace \(Y\subset X\) with St\((Y,\mathcal U)=X\). Examples are given of spaces which are not star-countable yet are first countable and star-Lindelöf or Tychonoff, pseudocompact and for every open cover \(\mathcal U\) the cover \(\{\text{St(St}(x,\mathcal U),\mathcal U)\;/\;x\in X\}\) has a finite subcover. ZFC examples of feebly Lindelöf P-spaces that are not star-Lindelöf are given. Star-Lindelöfness is shown to be reflected by open perfect mappings. It is shown that CH is equivalent to every dense pseudocompact subspace of \(2^{\mathfrak c}\) being star-Lindelöf.
